30.11 Iran Won’t Shut Down Nuclear Sites – Rouhani

MOSCOW, November 30 (RIA Novosti) – Iran has no plans to solve the impasse over its nuclear program by shutting down its nuclear facilities, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said.

Rouhani insisted in an interview with Financial Times, published Friday, that Iran’s nuclear program is peaceful and closely monitored by IAEA international watchdog.

When asked whether his government draws a red line at a total shutdown of nuclear facilities to prove Iran is not working to create a nuclear bomb, he said “100 percent.”

Iran reached an interim deal with international negotiators in Geneva earlier this month that was hailed as a breakthrough after years of fruitless talks.

The Middle Eastern country agreed to temporary freeze its nuclear research in exchange for lifting of some of the crippling international sanctions.
